PlouNuvol Light Interactive Installation

PlouNuvol

PlouNuvol is an interactive light installation shaped as a large inflatable cloud. Visitors enter the cloud and take part in a light and sound show. A conductor teaches a simple choreography that turns the body into a percussion instrument. The sounds recall the phases of rain and trigger light effects inside the cloud. Artificial fog and ten tons of salt on the floor reflect the colors of the walls. The outer skin is made of flame retardant polyester with a PVC coating, so the show is also visible from outside.

Solarbreaker Photovoltaic Facade Shutter

Solarbreaker

Solarbreaker is a photovoltaic facade shutter that turns building surfaces into energy producing elements. The system is based on extruded aluminium profiles onto which solar panels are mounted. Each panel is tilted at forty five degrees for higher efficiency, and one module of one square metre can power sixteen LED bulbs. Assembly requires almost no tools, because the profiles are placed on the mounting and lock under their own weight. Cables are hidden inside the profiles. Besides facades, the same components can form fences, barriers and blinds.

Hair of Umay Rug

Hair of Umay

Made in ancient nomadic technique, protected by UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safekeeping, this rug is bringing the best out of wool due to gradient wool shades and fine hand stitching that creates volumetric texture. 100 percent hand made, this rug is made using natural shades of wool plus yellowish tone dyed with onion shell. A golden thread that goes through the rug makes a statement and reminds of the hair freely flowing in the wind - hair of nomadic goddess Umay - protector of women and children.

Sandane Ping Pong Table

Sandane

Sandane is a public table tennis table designed for an urban park. The frame is made from simple steel plates painted with dark reflective paint. A chain of four wooden spheres works as a crossbeam. The spheres reflect in the paint, so a continuous chain appears to pass through the metal, making the structure seem translucent and light. The metal frame is built from only three unique pieces, which simplifies production and assembly. The design gives a robust piece of street furniture sculptural qualities.

Punto Door Handle

Punto

Punto is a door handle designed for everyday doors. The form of Punto comes from research into historical handles and their shapes. The proportions follow a constant ratio of one to two, and this relation links all the geometries of the handle. Punto measures 150 by 60 by 50 millimetres. The handle is made by die casting in aluminium or in brass. Aluminium versions are powder coated, while brass versions are polished or chromed. The simplified shape helps the user read at once how the door is opened.
