Rt
Rt is a backless seat that can also be used as a side table. The design is inspired by the Chinese tangram and is composed of three right-angle parts. Two L-shaped aluminum plates of identical size support one right-angle wooden block made of ash. The aluminum plates are 6 mm thick and are shaped by laser cutting and machine bending. All three components are screwed together, so users can assemble and disassemble Rt on their own. Rt measures 300 by 300 by 500 millimeters and appears different from each viewing angle.
Rt Stool or Sidetable by Xiaokai Li was identified as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Rt Stool or Sidetable won the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
