Klotz
Klotz is a coffee table that has a glass top and wooden legs made of six separate parts. The legs are constructed by bracing three wood blocks, producing a simple and sculptural form. Light oak and black oak are used for structure to make a color contrast and it presents the structure of legs more clearly.
Klotz Structual coffee table by Yu Hiraoka was highlighted as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Klotz Structual coffee table won the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2016. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
