Bond
Bond is a refillable candle that burns liquid fuel. The design combines a glass fuel tank with a concrete base. The glass form recalls traditional solid paraffin candles, while the base shape is drawn from the molecular formula of the liquid fuel. Bond gives a real flame that remains continuous and stable, and the candle can be refilled instead of replaced. Concrete and glass were chosen as light, durable and low cost materials. The base is shaped by CNC machining, then cast in reformed concrete using a silicone mold.
Bond Candle With Liquid Fuel by Mohammad Meyzari was recognized as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards.
