Solaris
Solaris is a multi-layered wall decoration made for living spaces. The design is inspired by the fictional planet described in Stanislaw Lem's novel and by the idea of a reply to the human search for life in the universe. Each layer is drawn digitally, laser cut from beech veneered MDF, painted separately and then bonded into a deep wooden relief. Sunset tones ranging from orange to navy blue follow the rhythmic sequence of the layers. Lathe-turned iroko spheres and two 45 RPM vinyl records complete the composition.
Solaris Multi Layered Wall Decor by Ismail Pehlivan was highlighted as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Solaris Multi Layered Wall Decor was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Homeware Design in 2025. The A' Decorative Items and Homeware Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which honors superior design of tableware, lighting fixtures, cookware, decorative accessories, bathroom accessories, furniture, textiles, kitchen gadgets and more.
