Herringbone
Herringbone is a dining table inspired by the structure of leaves and by the aim of removing what is superfluous. The internal structure stays visible, and the simple silhouette is fully exposed. The table is made of certified American solid wood with a natural oil finish, and measures 2500 by 1000 by 750 millimetres. Traditional woodworking techniques and the skills of master craftsmen are used, with as little glue as possible. The two large tops are shaped by hand. The table can be taken apart in three parts, yet behaves as a single piece.
Herringbone Dining Table by Alexandre Caldas has been identified as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Herringbone Dining Table earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that celebrates outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
