Birds
Birds is a multifunctional table designed for interiors. The base is made of terrazzo, formed from small pieces of stone that are joined into one new material. The vertical element is made of reused metal, and its many layers of old paint remain visible as a record of earlier use. Thin lines of light surround the stone and give a soft glow. Birds measures 1500 by 350 by 1500 millimeters. The table can also serve as a floor lamp, a bar, a bookshelf or an interior installation. The design shows how discarded materials can be given a second life.
Birds Multifunctional Table by Oksana Belova was selected as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Birds Multifunctional Table won the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which celebrates superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
