Arc
Arc is a furniture series composed of a lounge chair, a footstool, a desk, a floor lamp and a display shelf. The design is inspired by the curved lines of the Taihang Mountains in Shanxi Province, China. These lines are refined into the supporting frame of each piece. The frames are made of white steel and are covered with hand-sewn leather. Clear glass panels are added to contrast with the leather and the steel. Mechanical analysis of the support structure defines the angles and the sizes. The result is a light and modern appearance.
Arc Furniture Series by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Arc Furniture Series received the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that rewards exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
