Flow
Flow is a table inspired by the QiaoAn, a traditional Chinese furniture type used to display art objects and paintings. The two raised ends of the QiaoAn prevented items from falling, and the same feature is applied to Flow. The table measures 1800 by 800 by 750 millimeters and is made of black walnut and brass. The wooden and metal parts are shaped with computer numerical control machining, and the top is built with a mortise and tenon structure. Craftsmen then finish each surface by fine hand grinding.
Flow Table by Lu Yi has been recognized as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Flow Table earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that rewards exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
