Lexilight
Lexilight is a reading lamp designed to support people with dyslexia. The lamp combines pulsed and modulated light, which erases the mirror image that a dyslexic reader can perceive. Reading becomes easier, faster and longer without eye strain. A main button switches between the Lexilight mode and normal light, and two potentiometers adjust the pulsation and modulation for each user. The head is made of ABS with a metal paint finish, the diffuser of PMMA and the foot of Zamac. The form recalls a caring friend bent over the book, as a parent would be.
Lexilight Reading Lamp by Pad Design Studio was featured as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Lexilight Reading Lamp earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
