Ovo Melody
Ovo Melody is a musical toy designed for players of any age with little or no musical knowledge. Nodes are placed on tracks, and a ball with a magnetic sensor rolls down and reads the strength of each node magnet to identify the musical scale. The data is then sent by Bluetooth to a base station, which plays the sound. The base holds different instruments, so trumpet, piano or guitar can be selected by switching the bottom part. Braille notation marks each component and the instruction cards, so visually impaired people can also recreate known melodies or compose new ones.
Ovo Melody Toy for Visual Disable by Marco Guariglia has been highlighted as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Ovo Melody Toy for Visual Disable won the Iron A' Design Award in Toys, Games and Hobby Products Design in 2021.
